Textures in black and grey shimmer through a light, yellow-transparent veil. Light and dark meet. Textures and structures, like those found on the ground, in the bark of a dead tree trunk or in rock formations, are brought onto the base of the paper with ink. The yellow overlay symbolises sunlight. In philosophy, the metaphor of light refers on the one hand to the objects of cognition and on the other hand to cognition itself. Throughout the ages and in all cultures, light and dark have been figures of thought with which people examine and reflect on all possible manifestations of existence. This is also the case in art, as in this work, a paper piece in mixed media, where light acts as a window on the world.
Texturen in schwarz und grau schimmern durch einen hellen, gelb- transparenten Schleier. Hell und Dunkel treffen einander. Texturen und Strukturen, wie man sie am Boden, in der Borke eines abgestorbenen Baumstamms oder in Felsformationen finden kann, sind mit Tusche auf den Grund des Papieres gebracht. Das darüber gelegte Gelb steht symbolisch für Sonnenlicht. Die Metapher des Lichts wiederum bezieht sich in der Philosophie zum einen auf die Gegenstände des Erkennens, zum anderen vor allem auch auf das Erkennen selbst. Licht und Dunkel wirken durch alle Zeiten und Kulturen hindurch als Denkfiguren mit denen Menschen alle möglichen Erscheinungsformen des Daseins untersuchen und reflektieren. So auch in der Kunst, wie in diesem Werk, einer Papierarbeit in Mischtechnik, wirkt hier das Licht als Fenster zur Welt.
