Changes, transformations, the development of forms, emergence and decay, eternal return – these are all themes that people have been dealing with for hundreds and thousands of years. So it is not surprising that artists like to take up these themes again and again. Ultimately, the creation of art, including its development, is also a process that is subject to constant change/metamorphosis. The title of this work refers to these constant processes of change, decay and new beginnings. It is left to the viewer’s imagination to discover a pupation, a banana peel in the process of disintegration or an abstract, formal change of shape. What the viewer sees in this picture is a momentary state of an ongoing, incomplete process.
Wandlungen, Transformationen, Entwicklung von Formen, Entstehen und Vergehen, ewige Wiederkehr – all das sind Themen mit denen sich Menschen schon vor hunderten und tausenden Jahren befasst haben. So ist es nicht verwunderlich, dass Künstler diese Themen immer wieder gerne aufgreifen. Letztendlich ist die Entstehung von Kunst, einschließlich ihrer Entwicklung, ebenfalls ein Prozess, welcher stetigen Wandlungen/Metamorphosen unterliegt. Der Bildtitel dieses Werkes, verweist auf diese ständigen Prozesse der Veränderung, des Verfalls und des Neubeginns. Dabei bleibt es der Phantasie des Betrachters überlassen, eine Verpuppung, eine sich in Auflösung befindliche Bananenschale, oder eine abstrakte, formale Formveränderung zu entdecken. Was er in diesem Bild zu sehen bekommt, ist ein momentaner Zustand eines andauernden, unabgeschlossenen Prozesses.
