Acrylic, oil, resins, wood ash, ink – all this acts here on the canvas. Sprinkled in like particles and dust, colour pigments combine with oil, painting medium with ash. They sink, float, rise and form a space that seems impenetrable to us. Layer after layer emerges. In places, ash lies like a thick crust, burying everything underneath it. But there are places where it shines and shimmers through, like a curtain of clouds that tears apart, colour suddenly shines out of the ground.
Acryl, Öl, Harze, Holzasche, Tusche – all das agiert hier auf der Leinwand. Hineingestreut wie Partikel und Staub, verbinden sich Farbpigmente mit Öl, Malmittel mit Asche. Sie sinken, schweben, steigen auf und bilden einen Raum der undurchdringlich uns erscheint. Schicht für Schicht entsteht. Stellenweise, legt sich Asche wie eine dicke Kruste, über Flächen alles unter sich begrabend. Doch gibt es Stellen, da scheint und schimmert es hindurch, wie ein Wolkenvorhang der zerreißt, leuchtet Farbe unvermittelt aus dem Grund hervor.
